The Houston Business Journal has reported that Texas has received yet another award touting our business climate — the 2015 Gold Shovel Award from Area Development Magazine.

Billions of dollars in new development and the relocation of Toyota’s headquarters to Plano — along with some 4000 jobs — were among the contributing factors to our state’s ongoing business success. JGC American Inc. also plans to add roughly 1000 jobs for its new Westchase location in Houston.

Of course, the concerns over the slump in oil prices linger, with the magazine calling the falling prices our “biggest test yet.” But we will meet that challenge.
